Route One Entertainment Announces Acquisition of 'Palmer"

Route One Entertainment has secured the option for all media rights to the film script for Palmer, written by Cheryl Guerriero (Hunting Season).

The film tells the story of an ex-con who returns to his hometown and forms an unexpected bond with a young boy abandoned by his junkie mother. Palmer deftly addresses universal issues of self-identity, love and family in a world torn by intolerance.

“It’s rare when such a powerful and nuanced story is told in such a simple and straightforward way,” said Route One Entertainment’s CEO, Russell Levine who will produce the project. “This story has a big heart and is going to have an impact on a lot of people.”

Palmer was brought into Route One by Director of Development and Production, Sophia Dilley, who will co-produce. Chris Lytton, Route One’s COO will Executive Produce along with Guerriero. Route One is targeting a Q2 2017 start date.

Guerriero’s writing has won numerous awards and her original screenplay, Hunting Season, a mystery thriller, has aired on HBO/Cinemax, Lifetime and numerous TV channels around the globe.  Her documentary My Best Kept Secret was featured on Oprah.

Guerriero is represented by Heroes and Villains Entertainment and Jackoway Tyerman.
