FANTASTIQUE 20 20 20 COMES TO THE ZHdK

Started during the preparations for the NIFFF 'hors-série' online edition, the Fantastique 20 20 20 travelling programme will continue touring Switzerland until the beginning of the 20th edition, and come to the Klub Kuleshov of the Zürcher Hochschuler der Künste (ZHdK) from October 6th to show 5 explosive films. A virtual Q&A with director Fabrice Du Welz will take place on October 13th.

Although the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival (NIFFF) is still months away from its next edition (2-10 July 2021), preparations for its anniversary event are well underway with the Fantastique 20 20 20 retrospective programme. Started on the RTS in May 2020, this selection invites viewers to ponder on two decades of fantastic cinema and to think about the milestones, trends, and auteurs that have made the genre evolve drastically since the NIFFF's inception in 2000.

From October 6th, and every Tuesday for the next 5 weeks, the show will be at the Klub Kuleshov of the Zürcher Hoschschule der Künste, whom the NIFFF is proud to be continuing its collaboration with following the participation of Professors Christian Iseli and Michael Schaerer during the NIFFF hors-série 2020 and for NIFFF TV.

The university film club will screen 5 films through which you can (re)discover the works of important modern filmmakers in the fantasy genre (Neil Marshall, Kiyoshi Kurosawa) and explore its surprising possibilities (YOU, THE LIVING from Roy Andersson; THE INVITATION from Karyn Kusama).

On October 13th, you will also be able to interact with Fabrice Du Welz, who will take part in a virtual Q&A following the 35 mm screening of his film CALVAIRE. Admission is free for students and ZHdK employees, and 5 CHF for everyone else.
