Big Tribble in Little Cabin from Fischer & Wilson, SAVE YOURSELVES!

by Quendrith Johnson, Los Angeles Correspondent

It has been Weed O'clock on freeways and almost everywhere for a while here in Los Angeles, apart from at my house, where people are afraid of wildfires and evacuation. Thank the Pandemic for that. But you don't have to be "420 Friendly" to enjoy SAVE YOURSELVES! from Bleeker Street. Even with an exclamation point in the title, which is hell on earth for copy editors.

From Screenmancer Staff

SAVE YOURSELVES!, written and directed by Alex H. Fischer and Eleanor Wilson, has Amy Sedaris in it, so we’re already huge fans. However? We do see some “tribble” in the plot. Or maybe just an Homage to Tribble in a Trekkie sense. No matter, SAVE YOURSELVES! veers off that enterprise quickly, into apocalyptic pandemonium for Pandemic Times. While you won’t see any masks, surely they can be added in post. Just kidding, expect this to drop Oct. 6 near you from Bleeker Street.

Okay, SAVE YOURSELVES!

Recap from Bleeker Street Jack (John Reynolds) and Su (Sunita Mani) are a Brooklyn couple who, like many of their friends, find themselves dependent on technology and unable to put down their phones. Fearing their mindless scrolling may impact their connection with each other, they seize the chance to head to an isolated cabin in the woods, vowing to unplug from the outside world for a week. Sheltered from texts and push notifications, they are blissfully unaware that the planet is under attack. As strange events unfold, the couple must figure out a way back to civilization—or what’s left of it.

Not saying Somebody Watched Too Much STAR TREK, But…

Written & Directed by: Alex H. Fischer & Eleanor Wilson

Cast: Sunita Mani, John Reynolds, Ben Sinclair, John Early, Jo Firestone, Gary Richardson, Johanna Day, Zenobia Shroff, Amy Sedaris

Photo Credits: Pedro Vivas Hernandez / Bleecker Street
