The 19th San Diego International Kids’ Film Festival Is Just Around the Corner

With the vivid memories of the 2019 San Diego International Kids Film Festival, the global challenge of COVID-19 changed the way to present the glorious San Diego International Kids Film Festival in the past two years. Facing the most difficult time for all the live events, SDIKFF festival committee and the brand owner – Maeya Cultural Exchange Group have been working on all possible way to keep the film dream running in all kids’ hearts. After the 2020 online edition and the 2021 joint hands with sister festivals, this year, San Diego International Kids Film Festival finally came back to its home-base in the beautiful Carlsbad in Southern California, resume it’s full program of 5 industry panels, live show of the screenplay, 3 night galas and cultural activates will roll out  its signature long red carpet open to celebrity cinema arts with  filmmakers from all over the world

Due to the COVID-19 updates in the United States, the 2022 SDIKFF also experienced postpone again and will host the events with Epic ACG Fest, an outstanding anime/comic/game annual festival established by the Maeya Group. This Halloween, both filmmakers, animators and fans of SDIKFF and Epic ACG Fest will celebrate on site together with their hard work in the past three years. Over 200 submissions including feature, shorts, kids-made films, youth-made films, screenplays, songwriting, comic, game will be presented during the three-day festival. Now all the screening schedules are released on SDIKFF and EACG official website and can also be checked on the festival Facebook pages.

Among all the industrial professionals attending as panelists, this year the new Special Visual Effects(VFX) panel invited Oscar-winning filmmaker Douglas Smith and his wife, filmmaker Anna Chi. Mr.Smith won the Best Visual Effects Award at the 1997 Academy Awards for "Independence Day" and the 53rd Taiwan Golden Horse Award for "Mojin - The Lost Legend." The participation of Mr.and Mrs. Smith reflects the value that SDIKFF carries in Hollywood professional’s eyes, and also ensuring every filmmaker, guest, and fan who comes to participate in the festival can communicate with top Hollywood celebrities to discuss and exchange experiences in filming. Next to Mr.and Mrs.Smith at the VFX panel is our very own president of the SDIKFF, Mr. Sherwood Jones. Mr.Jones has been serving as the president of the San Diego International Kids’ Film Festival for years and has been promoting kids film with all his selfless efforts. We are truly honored to have him as our panelist this year and it would be for sure an unforgettable panel at the 2022 SDIKFF.

If you are interested in attending the 2022 SDIKFF, please check our official website and our Eventbrite page. All events would be open to public, and we welcome all the kids and film fans to come and join us this year, witness another successful page of SDIKFF and become a part of an everlasting memory in the film history.
