VIFF «Pacific Meridian» is an International Film Festival of Asian Pacific Countries.
Film Festival was instituted in 2003.
It is held annually in one of the most beautiful places on the Pacific coast - Vladivostok.
VIFF «Pacific Meridian» is a competition of feature length and short films of debuting and well-known filmmakers.
Out-of-competition program is the showcase of Asian Pacific countries cinema, brand new Russian cinema and Retrospective focusing on the lifework of a great cinema personality.
VIFF «Pacific Meridian» is a festival of actors, producers, filmmakers, distributors, directors, movie critics, journalists and grateful film amateurs.
It is a fantastic place giving birth to new cinema talents and projects, a meeting point of the available and possible.
VOICES Festival (VOlogda Independent Cinema from European Screens) The first edition of VOICES Festival will take place from July 4th to 9th, 2010 in Vologda, Russia. This event aims at taking an interested and investigative look at current European cinema, and will be an opportunity to discover new talents. The particularity of this festival is its concept: it is a Workshop-Festival combining both competition and workshops. The Competition: The competition features first and second full-length films by European directors. Moreover, each year VOICES Festival highlights a European country; the first edition will celebrate French cinema which goes hand in hand with the ‘Year of France' program in Russia. The Workshop: The festival campus will be a platform for knowledge and exchange on diverse subjects thanks to the organisation of master-classes held by film professionals. Such round-table discussions will be opened to the public. VOICES Festival is an official event of the ‘Year of France' program in Russia, and is supported by the Governor of the Region of Vologda, the city of Vologda, the French Embassy in Russia and the Russian Ministry of Culture.
International Film Festival on Water
The Voices from the Waters international film festival was inaugurated by Rajendra Singh popularly known as ‘Jal Purush’ or ‘Waterman’ of Rajasthan and addressed the audience on the need to rejuvenate our water bodies for prosperity.
The Dignitaries and participants were treated to visual and mesmerising gala of dance expressions by Vasudev C. in the name of “Jal”.
‘Bangalore Film Society’ serves to raise the understanding, awareness and sense of urgency into water crisis. ‘Voices from the Waters’ Travelling Film Festival is forum of showcasing the concerns and effects of the crisis surrounding water. It also provides a platform to showcase work from the emerging and amateur filmmakers around the world.
‘Voices from the Waters’ Travelling Film Festival is committed to create consciousness in people about understand and appreciate the social problem related to water and its significance.
Festival Details
‘Voices from the Waters’ Travelling Film Festival is an annual international event dedicated to the exhibition of non-fiction documentaries. Each year ‘Bangalore Film Society’ welcomes filmmakers and film lovers from around the world to Bangalore for a three-day festival on documentaries. Over 100 screenings with discussions, panels, and hospitality spread throughout day. The festival provides a healthy environment and space that nurtures conversation between activists, media, artists, film makers, scholars, students, and audience.
‘Voices from the Waters’ is conceived as a travelling film festival, a brainchild of ‘Bangalore Film Society’. It receives support from corporate sponsors, private foundations and individual donors whose contributions provide the foundation and makes the celebration possible.
A festival that is focused on pushing the boundaries of animation. The programme is 'filling the void' - bringing attention to the unused potential of the technique. Films are retrospective as well as premiering, and from any country.
VOID is screening films, inviting directors, and staging masterclasses and events. We are a competitive festival, giving out several short film awards.
