announced. Among the 10 films competing from 10 countries, Corneliu Porumboiu’s latest feature Politist, adj. (Police,
Adjective) won both the Golden Bull and the SİYAD (Turkish Film
Critics’ Association) awards. İki Dil Bir Bavul (On

In 1985 Festival of European Films was organized for the first time in order to present distinguished Turkish and European films to audiences in various cities of the country. Features, shorts and animation fils are presented.
Ankara International Film Festival, held annually in Ankara, was established in 1988 and is one of the longest running film festivals in the country.
Regarded as the most significant film event in the capital city, Ankara International Film Festival is best known for its eclectic programming. As a non-profit community-based film festival, Ankara International Film Festival established itself as an important forum for presenting the best examples of world cinema and is regarded as a friendly, well-organised and socially active event where guests, filmmakers and the general public interact, creating a vibrant, friendly and entertaining atmosphere. Since its first edition in 1988, the festival continues to grow with more number of qualified films, personnel, audience, and journalists.
