We accept shorts of
lengths, styles and genres, including DOCUMENTARY shorts and ANIMATED
films. Films can also be shot in any format or media as long as the
submitted format is on DVD, in which we ultimately screen from. We try
to put as few limits on the filmmakers as possible. Films shot by locals
or shot around SF Bay area is a plus, but not required. Time limit:
Under 30 minutes in length.
This film section is
one of the most exciting during our festival. Time limit: Under 10
minutes in length.

MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The Silicon Valley Film Festival and Awards - produced by Movie
Makers Unite, a not for profit corporation, dedicated to incubate
filmmakers with a vision of 'Imagination and Creativity for a rapid
Social Change' that brings us a wonderful and a Green 'Tomorrow's
World'.
Silicon Valley Film Festival promotes Siliwood film making and giving
international filmmakers a venue to showcase their work, participate in
workshops, network with fellow filmmakers .
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
All short films, including docs and animation, compete for our
esteemed Silicon Valley Awards, named after one of the Silicon Valley
Legend every year. All Awards are selected by our Festival selection
committee except Audience choice award, which is based on mobile votes
or ballots filled out after the screening.
If your film is accepted for screening at the festival, you agree that
Silicon Valley's Public Access cable channels CreaTV, KMVT, Palo Alto
Media Center and other community channels may broadcast all or part of
the submitted video in selected Silicon Valley Film Festival video
post-event showings.
GREEN FESTIVAL: As part of Green Earth initiative , we encourage you
to help us to 'Go Green' - Most of our fliers or Posters are targeted
for mobile devices. So if you have 'Podcast / mobile posters' send us
with your submission.

GENERAL RULES
We welcome films from anyone in any genre. All submissions must
fit the range of 1 to 30 minutes in length. Filmmakers in the greater
San Francisco Bay Area are strongly encouraged to apply, however we
accept international submissions.
Films may be submitted by mail or as a secure screener through
Withoutabox. If you choose to submit by mail, ensure that your DVD will
play on U.S. DVD players (Region 0).
Submission deadlines are as follows:
Early entry fee - June 15th - $35.00
Regular entry fee - July 15th - $40.00
Late entry fee - July 30th - $40.00
Withoutabox late submission only - August 5th - $50.00
If you are a filmmaker local to the greater San Francisco Bay Area, you
receive a $10 DISCOUNT at each entry level.( Pl. send a proof of
residence with submission.)
If you submit by mail, please be sure to include the following

Name of the entrant and all pertinent crew members and actors

Return address (With prepaid postage)

Otherwise please fill out the required fields on the Withoutabox
submission form.
AWARDS:
Accepted films will have the opportunity to compete for Silicon Valley
Awards in a variety of categories in addition to screening at the
festival.
SELECTION & NOTIFICATIONS:
All eligible entries will be reviewed by a Film Festival Selection
Committee with Official Selections announced and notified by August 10,
2010.
DVD (B-RAY) GUIDELINES:
*** Preview DVD's should be clearly labelled with the title, running
time and contact information (name, phone number, e-mail.) or WaB
number.
*** If you are submitting more than one entry, a separate submission is
required for each film, although they may be mailed together.
