The International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF) has approved the dates and the regulations of the 2006 Montreal World Film Festival.
Every year, FIAPF requests of each accredited festival, that they submit in advance their regulations which should be in accordance with FIAPF’s own regulations. Therefore, the dates and regulations of the 2006 Montreal World Film Festival have been approved by FIAPF. Most film producing countries are FIAPF members, including Canada.
The next Montreal World Film Festival (Montreal International Film Festival) will be held from August 24 to September 4, 2006. The other FIAPF accredited competitive festivals are Cannes, Berlin, Venice and several others around the world. The Montreal World Film Festival is the only competitive film festival recognized by FIAPF in Canada.
As it has done since it was founded in 1977, the Montreal World Film Festival continues to promote cultural diversity and to encourage cinema, objectively and eschewing conflicts of interest. In order to serve better domestic and international cinema, the MWFF organizes each year a Film Market for quality cinema, open to all trends and supports, including new technologies.
