The Updates of Digital Cinema regarding the distribution and screening over
the world

The standardization of digital cinema by the Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI) is nearly complete, and digital cinema projects are currently being developed
around the world. In this symposium, panelists from Japan and abroad will present the latest news on digital cinema distribution.
The future of the digital cinema business of Japan will be the topic of discussion.

Panelists:
Yotam Ben-Ami
Vice President, Worldwide Anti-Piracy Operations North America, Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.
Yotam Ben-Ami was named Vice President, Worldwide Anti-piracy Operations – North America, Warner Bros. Entertainment, Inc., in January, 2005.
Ben-Ami oversees all North American anti-piracy operations and manages strategic worldwide anti-piracy initiatives and projects, working closely with Warner Bros. Entertainment’s anti-piracy regional teams and business units.
Ben-Ami joined the Company in 2002 as Manager, Corporate Business Development & Strategy, before becoming one of the core members of the newly created Worldwide Anti-piracy Operations unit led by Darcy Antonellis.
Prior to joining Warner Bros. Entertainment, Ben-Ami worked for McKinsey & Company specializing in telecommunications and e-commerce. He also worked for Cellcom, Israel’s leading cellular communications provider.
A graduate of the Tel-Aviv University School of Law, Ben-Ami was an attorney with the firm of S. Pines, Harmelech, Milner.
Prior to that, he spent three years in the Israeli Military Intelligence.
In addition to his law degree, Ben-Ami holds an MBA in International Business from the Anderson School at UCLA.

Tetsuro Fujii
Executive Manager, Media Networking Laboratory, NTT Network Innovation Laboratories
Tetsuro Fujii received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees, all in electrical engineering, from the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 1979, 1981, and 1984 respectively.
In 1984, he joined Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation (now NTT), Japan. He has been engaged in research on adaptive signal processing, image signal processing and transport processing. His current interest is Super High Definition image processing and its application to digital cinema. He became an Executive Manager of Media Networking Laboratory, NTT Network Innovation Laboratories in 2005.
Major awards: Achievement Award of IEICE (The Institute of Electronics, Information and communication Engineers), in 2004.

Beginning with eight screens in 1994, by 2000, Bud Mayo had built Clearview into a chain of nearly 300 screens and 65 locations, including the world-famous Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City.

Patrick von Sychowski
Director of Business Development, Unique Digital Ltd

Patrick von Sychowski is Director of Business Development for Unique Digital
(www.uniquedigitalcinema.com), the world's largest international digital screen advertising services company. Unique was the first to switch an entire country to digital screen advertising when Norway went digital in 2002 and operates more digitised cinema screens in Europe than any other company.
Prior to joining Unique Patrick was a Senior Analyst for media research company Screen Digest for six years, specialising in digital cinema issues. He wrote the first in-depth report on the digitization of cinema (“Electronic Cinema: The Big Screen Goes Digital”, 2000). Patrick has also advised and consulted on several of the most significant digital cinema projects in Europe. This includes both the UK Film Council's Digital Screen Network (DSN) project, set to be the world's largest digital cinema deployment, and European DocuZone's Cinema Net Europe (CNE). He is a founding
member of the European Digital Cinema Forum (EDCF).
Patrick was also the founder and editor of the widely read E-Cinema Alert newsletter. Most recently he was involved in the standard setting efforts of SAWA (Screen Advertising World Association), which published its standards and recommendations at the Cannes Lions in June 2005. A frequent speaker at international events, Patrick lives and works in London.
