"The Martini Effect" was selected to the 8th Thess International Film Festival for October 25-29, 2014 in Thessaloniki, Greece. Festival director Yiannis Zachopoulos received over 1,000 entries for this edition of the festival. "The Martini Effect" tells the story of a couple who is "underwater" on their home and unable to pay their mortgage due to some personal problems and bad choices. The film was made on land in Los Angeles and Malibu with the Canon C300 by DP/Editor Brandon Bondehagen. Underwater footage in Barbados and Puerto Rico was done on GoPros by Emanuele Secci and Dawn Westlake, respectively, who also star in the film. A beautiful original score on the guitarviol was provided by Gregory Johnson of Acoustic Labs, who is an Alvarez featured artist.
