Animation Takes CannesAnimation Takes on Cannes Film Festival Today, filmgoers, writers, directors and producers alike gathered at the Horyou Village on the Croisette, to attend the Film Festival's Animation Day. There was a panel to discuss the ups and downs of the animation film industry, the passion it takes to create such work and tips all about the writing, up to the promotion. Afterwards, a short question/comment section was held in which the panelists did their best to guide other filmmakers in the animation industry, or to hear their take on how animation has worked for them. Some short animation films were then shown to the audience, hand picked by panelist Laurie Gordon. Two awards from the MIAFF (Montreal International Animation Fim Festival) were announced shortly after. All in all it was a very informative panel that allowed for anyone interested in film to learn more about the art of the trade and how to be more successful in it for the future.
