Martin Scorsese Masterclass in Cannes

A Spectrum of My Genres. A Range of My Themes

I can consider myself a multi-genre artist practicing cinema from the point of postmodernity. I have screened several hundreds of plots, for 17 years of the existance of my Monocineartstudio of Anna Polibina-Polansky. The classical repertory is duly revised, and the traditional themes are re-formulated from the point of the thematic novelty and freshness. I compound my own sound and video row. My films are comprised of my phots, images, drafts, music and poetry (all - by my very own). So I dig for new subjects and plots, and I reach the unusual resounding of themes and genres. In poetry, lyrics, epics and drama are equally accessible for me, as formal tonalities historically predestined. My films are basically shortcut, but a series of films may compound the full meter. For instance, I have created 15 films of Emily Dickinson, and one at the Literary Museum of Moscow (at the Trubnikovsky Strand near Arbat) I happened to demonstrate 10 films of her, by myself, to my audience, which gathered to watch my monoshow devoted to the poetess and the presentation for my new book of poetic translations from Dickinson, "At the Cropfield of Celestial Boundlessness". Also I had issued another book of my poetic translations from her, "The Melody Appointed from Beyond". So I received an opportunity from my organizers, to spread two of my books, for free, among the prepared, subtle audience. Anna Polibina-Polansky, Moscow; February, 2020
