NYFF51 All Is Lost Press ConferenceBy Maria Esteves – October 13, 2013 The 51st New York Film Festival (NYFF51) ALL IS LOST press conference with director J.C. Chandor and Award winning actor Robert Redford, founder of Sundance Film Festival, moderated by Amy Taubin commenced Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at the Walter Reade Theater. Questions posed by NYFF moderator Amy Taubin and members of the press to Chandor and Redford included "Did you ever think I'm going to be totally alone on this screen for an hour just the way this guy is alone on this boat, was that scary or not; did you ever talk about your characters back story or any detail; can you talk about the research you did for the role in any nautical sense, and have you ever had to put your own survival skills to the test at any point in your life; did you have a relationship throughout your life to the water rather than the mountains; and how did you physically prepare for this?" ALL IS LOST opens in NY & LA theaters Friday, October 18, 2013.
