Nominations announced for the 2019 Rose d’Or AwardsWe are proud to announce the nominees for the 2019 Rose d’Or Awards. Across the ten categories works from across the world have been nominated, creating a diverse and dynamic shortlist. From the pop culture phenomenon Carpool Karaoke, to social experiment Black Out and comedy mockumentary Couples Therapy, the nominations showcase a wide range of subject matter and stylistic approach. Previous winners of the prestigious award include The Crown, Gogglebox and The Graham Norton Show. The shortlist was voted for by 60 international judges made up of media industry professionals, chaired by The Bridge star Sofia Helin. Sofia Helin, Chair of the jury said: “The shortlist for The Rose d’Or awards this year is brilliantly diverse, and For the first time, this year’s awards also include an Audio Entertainment category, celebrating the success podcasts, audiobooks and radio content has seen over the past year. The works nominated cover a range of topics from a 10-year scandal-plagued international race to breed the world’s hottest chili to the taboo subject of death. During the ceremony three special awards will also be presented for Performance of the Year, Lifetime Achievement and The Golden Rose, which honours a specific outstanding entertainment programme or series of the past year. This year Maren Kroymann, the first lady of German TV comedy will receive the Rose d’Or Lifetime Achievement Award for 2019. The other special awards will be announced ahead of the ceremony. Past recipients of Rose d’Or Special Awards include Joanna Lumley, Angela Lansbury, James Corden, Jan Böhmermann and John Cleese. Tickets for the 58th annual Rose d’Or Gala Awards ceremony are on sale now. The red carpet affair includes a champagne reception, ceremony in the Kings Place main auditorium, and afterparty.
