Films in Progress, a joint initiative between Cinélatino, Rencontres de Toulouse and the San Sebastian Festival, endeavours to facilitate the completion of rigorously selected independant latinoamerican films which, though completed, are having difficulty finding their way into the post-production stage. Since 2002, this double event presents an annual selection of 12 works-in-progress in two sessions: 6 films in Toulouse in march and 6 films in september in San Sebastián. This initiative is answering to a demand of the latin-american producers and directors who are facing difficulties at the stage of the post-production of films under financed but made with a lot of creativity. The producers need to find complementary supports for these films marked by the stamp of singularity and independence, made with a lot of effort.
Three awards have been given in the Cinéma Gaumont Wilson in Friday, the 23rd of March 2018, during the 30rd edition of Cinélatino, Rencontres de Toulouse (16-25 mars 2018) :

Films in Development 13
Cinéma en Développement is a place where professionals from Latin America and Europe can connect. It's all about meetings and exchanges : the objective of this hub is to put the professionals who want to discover new talents and projects in touch with directors or producers who are developing a project and who want to create or reinforce their professional network. Cinéma en Développement can receive around twenty producers or directors with a project at different stages (writing, financing, production, post-production) and formats (feature-length fiction films, documentaries, animation and short-films). A match-making will be done to make easier the encounter with potential partners, producers, sellers, distributors, channels and to get some feedbacks. Directors and producers of the selected projects will meet the professionals during individual meetings of 30 minutes. It's a space opened up to fiction projects, documentaries, animation, and even virtual reality and experimental movies, short or feature films. Cinéma en Développement is thought as a creator of connections between Latin-America profesionnals and Europeans. It's a place enhancing meetings and exchanges. This place is a "hub" which aims to connect professionals willing to discover new talents and projects with producers or directors developping one who wants to bound or reinforce their profesionnal network.
