Interesting Facts About the Movie ‘Casino’ and the Joy of Spinit Casino

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRBnSRj5AhFaU7qJX83BoB4cYlEaIovkriN_AsScay_4ZLoVTRx

When you begin hunting around for the best new slots, Spinit Casino is it. You will also likely discover that there are plenty of movies out there that romanticize casino gaming, especially as it pertains to Las Vegas. ‘Casino’ is one of those great, iconic movies that has endured the test of time, though not quite as well as others.

There are plenty of things a lot of movie aficionados don’t know about ‘Casino,’ just as there are many reasons to take a chance on Spinit Casino, especially when you consider how much you can win.

In honor of those men and women who can’t seem to get enough of the casino thrill, below are some interesting facts about the movie ‘Casino’ starring Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, and Sharon Stone.

Interesting Fact 1: The casino scenes were filmed in the Riviera.

The actual casino floor footage was conducted in the Riviera between 1 and 4 o’clock in the morning. The casino didn’t want the shooting to detract from business as usual, but of course they hung a large banner up advertising who was actually there filming. Like that’s going to deter people!

Interesting Fact 2: Joe Pesci’s wife tried to have him killed.

Not during the actual filming of ‘Casino,’ mind you, but years later. However, during the actual filming, his wife at that time was the co-host for ‘Ace’s High,’ the band playing in one scene. Years later, she and Pesci divorced, she remarried, and then in 2000 was convicted on 2 counts of trying to have him killed.

Interesting Fact 3: Most conversations between Pesci and De Niro were improvised.

When you watch Casino, you’ll probably note how natural the characters that De Niro and Pesci play seem to be, especially when working in the same scene. That’s partly due to the fact that they are given free rein to improvise their lines.

Not many directors give their actors that level of freedom and of course it paid off with some great dialogue.

Interesting Fact 4: The counting room wasn’t a real one.

The Riviera wouldn’t allow any filming to occur within their actual counting room, so production had to create one just for that scene. When people watch that scene, they ponder the millions of dollars that come through casinos daily.

Interesting Fact 5: The character of K.K. Ichikawa was based on a real-life person.

The Japanese high roller was based on Akio Kashiwagi’s life. He was a high roller in the 1970s and 1980s who ended up owing millions upon millions to many of the top casinos around the world. He was murdered in 1992 by the Japanese mafia.

These are just a few fun facts that surround the movie ‘Casino,’ which is a fan favorite among many who love the thrill going to a casino will offer.
