Ultra Short Film Festival
- 30 seconds long films on concept of "Time" theme
- made by enthusiastic and creative international film makers
- fiction, documentaries, animation or video art
- shown in 70 major metropolitan cities in 13 countries in May 2010 over the same two-week period.

SHORT FILMS ARE EVERYWHERE NOW!
In metros, airports, shopping centres, trains…
ART BY CHANCE is the brand new “Ultra Short Film Festival” that will be aired in May 2010 all around the world. Films will meet with us IN unexpected, non-theatrical venues around the world.
Besides its global dimension, ART BY CHANCE is also unique because the selected short movies will be presented to the public through the advertising screens instead of movie theatres. ART BY CHANCE will present urban dwellers with stimulating content thus colouring the time slices that are usually considered dead.

UNIQUE SHORT FILM FORM AS WELL AS THE SCREENING
Enthusiastic and creative international film makers will be preparing 30 seconds long, films*, on “Time” them. ART BY CHANCE opens to movies of all kinds; fiction, animation, documentary and video art with the exception of training and advertising films.

WHEN ADVERTISING SCREENS REPLACE THEATRES

ART BY CHANCE is currently partnering with many digital advertising network operators throughout the world. With these partnerships ART BY CHANCE will realize a revolutionary event allowing art to meet millions of people around the world. The best festival entries will be selected by a jury and will be screened on digital advertising screens located inside metros, busses, railways, public transportation terminals, shopping malls and airports.

LARGEST AUDIENCE EVER REACHED BY A SHORT FILM FESTIVAL
ART BY CHANCE is going to allow film makers to share their work with a large audience. Viewers around the world will have the opportunity to watch the best festival movies free of charge and within the course of their daily routine. This is the largest audience ever reached by a short film festival. Reaching so many people can only be possible by taking the screenings outside the theatres where the urban people can see it without an effort.

*The sound using in films is optional. The participants must aware all the screens may not have sound access.

The Festival's Theme: "Time"
Time stands still. Time passes.
Time defines the balance humanity seeks to establish in modern life.
Since the very rejection of time by primitive societies its concept has dramatically changed. Today our concepts of time play an important role in shaping the way in which we live our lives. Our search to understand human existence and the way we perceive the world around us still remains an impenetrable equation. Is this concept of time which we are seeking to define only something dreamt up by humankind? Is it in fact real? Or does it even exist at all?

Philosophers agree that a concept of time is the method of comparing one moment with another, a process that is perhaps nothing more than perception. Without a doubt the perceptions of every mind are unique and they create an entirely different understanding of time. Art by Chance 2010 has set out to explore how the perception of time is unique to every individual and how time can influence the narrative of city life, one of modern man’s greatest challenges.

Films touching the untouchable theme of time in their own time.
It’s time to move!
