About 90% of all film selections are non-US productions, helping to fulfill the festival mission of promoting cross-cultural understanding through film.

The 46th edition of the PORTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL – FANTASPORTO 2026 will take place at BATALHA CENTRO DE CINEMA.dates will be announced soon
The Festival main purpose is screening and promoting films of quality, both aesthetically and thematically, and to seek new forms and methods of filmmaking.
Submitted films must be portuguese premieres of films shot in 2024
