Cinéfondation Prizes 2010 awarded by the Jury presided by Atom Egoyan

This year the Cinéfondation Selection showed 13 student films coming from Asia, Europe, North and South America.
The Cinéfondation and Short Films Jury, presided by Atom Egoyan, composed of film directors Carlos Diegues and Marc Recha and actresses Emmanuelle Devos and Dinara Droukarova, has awarded the Cinéfondation prizes during a ceremony in the Buñuel Theatre.

First Prize:
TAULUKAUPPIAAT (The Painting Sellers)
directed by Juho Kuosmanen
Aalto University, Finland

Second Prize:
COUCOU-LES-NUAGES (Anywhere Out of the World)
directed by Vincent Cardona
La fémis, France

Third Prize (joint winners):
HINKERORT ZORASUNE (The Fifth Column)
directed by Vatche Boulghourjian
NYU, United States

JA VEĆ JESAM SVE ONO ŠTO ŽELIM DA IMAM
(I Already Am Everything I Want to Have)
directed by Dane Komljen
FDU, Serbia

“The jury was extremely impressed with the quality of the selection, particularly the excellence of the directors’ work with actors. All the films strove to find unique ways of harnessing cinematographic vision with delicate and often haunting performances.”
Atom Egoyan

The awarded films will receive 15 000 € for the First Prize, 11 250 € for the Second Prize and 7 500 € for the Third Prize.
The 13 competing films have been selected among over 1500 submitted.

Films of directors from previous Cinéfondation Selections are present in different sections of the Festival: Tender Son - The Frankenstein Project by Kornél Mundruczó in Competition, Pál Adrienn by Ágnes Kocsis at Un Certain Regard, All Good Children by Alicia Duffy at the Directors’ Fortnight and Cynthia todavia tiene las llaves  by Gonzalo Tobal at the Critic’s Week.
The Cinéfondation Selection, created in 1998, is proud to have accompanied the work and development of these new talents of international cinema.
