The Short Films in Competition will begin screening today. The
international Short Film Jury is presided by British director John
Boorman; the panel is made up of actresses Leonor Silveira and Zhang
Ziyi and directors Ferid Boughedir and Bertrand Bonello. At tomorrow
night's Closing Ceremonies, they will announce the winner of the Short
Film Palme d'Or. Nine films are in the running:
Missing by Jochem de Vries (Netherlands), Arena by João Salaviza (Portugal), Silence by Laila Pakalnina (Latvia), Worstward Ho by Alex Brendemühl (Spain), Lars and Peter by Daniel Borgman (Denmark), The Man in the Blue Gordini by Jean-Christophe Lie (France), The Six Dollar Fifty Man by Mark Albiston and Louis Sutherland (New Zealand), Ciao Mama by Goran Odvorcici (Croatia), and After Tomorrow by Emma Sullivan (UK).
