Cannes seen from Fort Lauderdale Bonnie AdamsAs you know Cannes was rainy this year, perhaps 5 days of it, on and off, and its not really a fun place to be in the rain, as there are not many overhangs nor places to just hang out til the rain passes. The sidewalks become full of water and its impossible to avoid soaking shoes and pants, since the rain falls at an angle. You really just want to give up, because you never pack a raincoat when thinking of the sunny cote d'azur. It was on one of these days, that I sloshed forward to a screening only to run into Mrs. Doubtfire, undoubtedly the highlight of many years of attending this prestigious film festival. My mouth dropped open, and she came up to me, gently shook my hand, and said in a jolly voice, "How are you deary?". Mrs. Doubtfire looked exactly like Mrs. Doubtfire and Robin Williams in dress, manner, size and voice. It was a brief enounter that I will never forget that left me wishing for many Mrs. Doubtfires to be sprinkled around the world to offer cheer and good will.
