RAYA FILMS launch development of ‘The Finca’

4563.jpg?width=650&height=500

RAYA FILMS are proud to announce the launch of a project that has been close to their hearts for many years. The Finca is a mind-bending supernatural horror set in Spain. The screenplay is complete and the team are now seeking production partners and to source finance for this exciting project with global appeal.

“It’s great to be back in development of The Finca,” explains director, James Smith. “The screenplay has been through many variants, but screenwriter, Caroline Spence, has now penned a fantastic draft, which will enable an environmentally sustainable and ‘covid-compliant’ production.”

A shoot is planned for 2021 with named talent, and the team is open to connect with interested parties to schedule meetings and discuss potential collaboration.

Logline:
An American woman visits Spain to see the property of her estranged, now deceased mother, and experiences phenomena beyond her control.

The Finca is a melange of psychological horror and supernatural chills, allowing audiences to see a side of Spain few outsiders experience. It mixes the mind-bending intrigue of Memento (Christopher Nolan, 2000) with the isolated menace of Deliverance (John Boorman, 1972) and paranormal unease of What Lies Beneath (Robert Zemeckis, 2000). A tight international cast complements a tightly-woven plot and expansive locations to deliver a horror with global appeal.
