The Cinando Chinese version is now up
The Chinese version of Cinando cinando.cn has launched, in partnership with The Chinese Film Market and with the support of the MEDIA program.
Cinando.cn will make its debut at Filmart, the Hong-Kong film market taking place from March 24 to March 27. For the occasion, all films and participating companies will be presented on Cinando in both English and Mandarin.
The next events covered by this new Chinese version will be the Beijing and Shanghai film festivals, and of course, the Festival de Cannes and its Marché du Film, the founders of Cinando.
“With this new initiative, Cinando hopes to facilitate knowledge of industry players in China, and other countries. The systematic approach allowed by the database, which already counts a thousand mainland Chinese members, will make it easier to identify potential collaborations between Chinese and international partners. It is a first and necessary step towards the development of coproductions and economic exchanges between the Chinese film industry and the rest of the world”, explains Jérôme Paillard, the Executive Director of the Marché du Film.
Created in 2005 by the Marché du Film, Cinando.com is the film industry’s leading network and database. With 49,000 registered members and 10 million pages viewed per year, Cinando is the goto platform for film professionals and covers most major film events around the world, including AFM, Sundance, Berlin, Cannes, Toronto, Busan, Ventana Sur and Hong Kong. A total of 20,000 companies as well as 28,000 active films and projects are listed on Cinando, where more than 5,000 films are also viewable through an online screening room.
