Forrest Whittaker oscar campaigning at Capri Hollywood FestivalForest Whitaker’s race for an Oscar will come to the Capri, Hollywood Film Festival on December 30 with the screening of The King of Scotland, in which Whitaker portrays Ugandan dictator Idi Amin. The festival runs from December 27 through January 2. The popular African-American actor will take time out from a crowded schedule to come with his wife and four sons for the special screening of the Kevin McDonald film as part of the “Kimbo Premiere 2006” series. That same evening at the Cinema Gala by Fiuggi, Whitaker will receive a Casino of Venice Capri Legend Award for his quarter-century of work, including Platoon, Good Morning, Vietnam, The Crying Game and Abel Ferrera’s Mary. Promoted with the sponsorship of the European Union and the support of the Ministry of Cultural Assets (Director General's Office of Cinema), the Campania Region Councillorship for Tourism and Cultural Assets, “Capri, Hollywood” will preview some 70 films.
