SCRAPPY is the 18th short film from Ron de Cana Productions. The 4-minute short was born on September 11, 2016. Based on a poem by Donald G. Westlake about a real-life event in his childhood, SCRAPPY was developed for the screen and directed by his daughter, Dawn Westlake. Canon USA, Inc. provided a CanonC300 and CanonXC10 for the shoot. Pol Carrizo-Vilarroig of Imatge Barcelona shot, edited and did color grading and VFX. The film was shot on location in Pine Mountain, CA, USA and Calders, Catalunya, Spain.

The film was narrated by Dawn Westlake and features animators Dismas & GrissyG in their first acting roles. The film also introduces their 5-yr-old daughter Nefertina Lizarraga and dog Kong.

2016 Peer Raben Music Award nominee GC Johnson of Acoustic Labs provided the score.
