"terroir" selected to Cinefantasy International Fantastic Film Fest in Brazil!"terroir" has been selected to the 10th Cinefantasy International Fantastic Film Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil for September 8-20, 2020. Written, helmed and sung by Dawn Westlake and produced under her Ron de Cana Prods, Inc. shingle, "terroir" is about the mother-child relationship and how it can unfortunately sometimes affect our perceptions of very capable female leaders in all sectors of society. The film recently won the Audience Award at the UNCG Sustainability Film Fest in Greensboro, NC, USA, and it's previously won awards in festivals in India and Colombia. "terroir" was shot on location in Westlake's childhood home in Wheaton, IL USA, in a vineyard in Peru, IL, in another in Vilafranca del Penedes, Catalunya, Spain and in the snowy mountains of Font Romeu, France by Pol Carrizo Vilarroig of Imatge Barcelona. Pol also edited and did the considerable visual effects. An original score was composed and Westlake's voice coached by GC Johnson of Acoustic Labs. 4-yr-old Lilly Johnson made her professional acting debut in the film, playing Westlake in 1969 and a ghost-version of Westlake's mother in approximately 1930.
