It's a wrap! With the reopening of the cinemas and the screening of our audience award winner HE'S MY BROTHER at three of our partner venues, the second edition of DOK.fest München @home came to an end last week. This gives us hope for next year, when we are already very much looking forward to welcoming you back to Munich!

For now, we are thrilled about a successful DOK.forum @home edition with 3,101 online visitors, 211 industry experts at a total of 58 online events.

You missed an industry event at DOK.forum 2021 @home? We present more than 15 recordings of our panels, case studies and talks online including three Masters Pitch Impulse Talks by our international jurors.

Six endowed industry awards as well as further mentoring and festival prizes: DOK.forum 2021 @home focused the core themes of documentary filmmaking. With the DOK.edit Award – presented by Adobe and the DOK.series Award, documentary editing as well as serial projects were honoured for the first time in 2021.

Tracking long-term trends: In four programme sections, this year's DOK.forum events offered space for the debate of central issues for the industry.

We had a close look at the interactive development of documentary formats and new technical solutions in our New Media programme section. The new section Re:arranging Reality – Postproduction in Documentary Film focused on strategies of image design and thus took up an explosive topic of current discussion. The talks with the editors nominated for the DOK.edit Award – presented by Adobe took us to the NOW of documentary film editing. And for the first time, online Workshops & Consultancies rounded off the digital offerings.

From the great response to our Media Policy panels, we could see that our offer once again took up highly sensitive issues: We will stay tuned and continue to offer you a reliable forum.
