ACTION AGAINST HUNGER, a world leader in the fight against childhood malnutrition, gave top honors last night to Renault-Nissan Alliance CEO and Chairman Carlos Ghosn.

Every year, hundreds of ACTION AGAINST HUNGER’s most dedicated supporters come together for an evening of inspiration, rallying around the mission to save lives and honoring significant contributions towards ending hunger worldwide.

On Thursday night at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, ACTION AGAINST HUNGER honored the Renault-Nissan Alliance for its global humanitarian work, including the establishment of an emergency fund that will help ACTION AGAINST HUNGER provide rapid-response when and where it is needed most.

“We are honored to be recognized by ACTION AGAINST HUNGER,” Ghosn said. “ACTION AGAINST HUNGER is uniquely positioned to achieve our shared goal of saving lives today, while working with communities to improve health, provide stability and ensure a sustainable future.”

“The Renault-Nissan Alliance has been a strong advocate of global humanitarian work, which includes everything from supporting victims of the typhoon in the Philippines to providing emergency food assistance to people in East Africa,” said Raymond Debbane, Chairman of ACTION AGAINST HUNGER's Board of Directors. “We honor their commitment to help the most vulnerable communities thrive.”

Last year, ACTION AGAINST HUNGER responded to three major humanitarian emergencies - conflict in Syria, the devastating typhoon in the Philippines, and violence in the Central African Republic - nearly doubling the services provided. By collaborating with some of the most influential forces in the public and private sectors, ACTION AGAINST HUNGER is able to build upon that success, transforming short-term interventions into long-term solutions.
