What is the role of a film festival

Opposing images and motion to the motionless imagination stiffened by television and press every day, in a country whose news are decided as if by drawing chance cards. Where facts and events always turn into an emergency. Heatwave and frost emergencies, flood and fire emergencies, security crises and deaths at work, car accidents and tax evasion, momentary celebrities and wars in faraway countries, demonstrated (but not shared) peace and sensational poverty, paedophile scandals and the exceeding time spent by children in front of their TV sets. Systematic emergencies.
