12. International Film Festival Bratislava (5. - 11. November 2010) - Press Release

There are only 100 days left before the start of the 12th International Film Festival Bratislava! IFF Bratislava will bring a fresh and diverse program of contemporary cinema, accompanied by debates, concerts, and much more in the new autumn dates: 5. - 11. November 2010. The festival will multiply its number of screens across Bratislava and the rest of Slovakia.

After honoring István Szabó, Ulrich Seidl and Juraj Herz during the last three years, IFF Bratislava will present its Artistic Achievement Award to the renowned Czech director Jan Švankmajer, the world famous artist best known for his surreal films. His latest feature, a Slovak coproduction, Surviving Life (Theory and Practice) will be presented in competition at the upcoming Venice Film Festival.

The Main Jury of IFF Bratislava will have a unique touch this year, as it will be composed of directors of major world film festivals only. Karlovy Vary Artistic Director Eva Zaoralová & Sarajevo Festival director Mirsad Purivatra (whose festival is currently taking place) have already confirmed their participation. Announcement of other jury members will soon follow.
