Chile focus at Latin American Film Festival in Oaxaca

The second edition of the Latin American Film Festival will be in Oaxaca from April 15th to 20th this year. Chile is the invited country and in addition to the normal activities with long and short features and documentaries, we are introducing two new aspects.

Cinema in Construction: In this section, the audience will be able to appreciate Latin-American films which won’t be screened in its final or edited version and films that are in post-production process.

A Perspective from Latinos in World: This section will present material about Latin-American issues but made by filmmakers from other places around the world such as Germany, Israel, Morocco or Italy for example.

The MAGENTIES PRIZE will continue and the organization is also considering a SIGNIS MEXICO Prize which is a special mention recognized worldwide and will be awarded to the long and short feature and documentary films from the official selection.

Its also a pleasure to be able to announce that the Oaxaca government and main cultural Institutions such as Instituto de Artes Gráficas by Maestro Francisco Toledo, Cine Club el Pochote by Isabel Rojas, Juárez Theater by Myra Habib Benítez and Nundehui Planetarium by Tenoch Aguilar, are also lending their support to the realization of this Second Latino Film Festival in Oaxaca.
