Nodance
Film and Multimedia Festival
January 20- 26, 2001 (Park
City)
The
irreverent, independent Nodance Film & Multimedia Festival is proud
to announce its program line up, including an unprecedented number
of world premieres. The event, held at 333 Main Street in Park City,
Utah from January 20th through January 26th, 2001 presents features,
shorts, documentaries, and music videos in a celebration of the
vibrant alternative digital film culture. Nodance is a member of
the Wasatch Festival Syndicate, and will co-host the Festival Summit
party on Friday, January 26th.
"It's exciting to bring together such a diverse lineup of digital
video and film projects for the public," says Festival Director
James Boyd. "For a filmmaker, nothing beats hearing the roar of
applause, and receiving feedback from the audience. With limited
production budgets preventing many first-time filmmakers from being
accepted by the larger festivals, Nodance is more than willing to
provide them with the Park City experience."
In addition to screenings, parties and panels, the infamous Nodance
"Walk On Program" at Nodance Headquarters will once again provide
sign-in screenings for any filmmaker and for any project. Known
for its unconventional methods, Nodance maintains its independence
through private donations, and holds the distinction of being the
world's first DVD-projected film festival.
All competition films are eligible for Nodance awards including:
Grand Jury for Best Feature, Grand Jury for Best Short, Grand Jury
for Best Documentary, Audience Award for Best Feature, Audience
Award for Best Short, Audience Award for Best Documentary. All films
are eligible for the coveted Golden Orbs Award for Most Creative
Guerrilla Marketing Campaign.
Additionally, Nodance is proud to present Artisan Entertainment's
Skeletons In the Closet starring Treat Williams (Things
To Do In Denver When You're Dead) and Linda Hamilton (Terminator
2), and written and directed by Wayne Powers (Deep Blue Sea)
as the closing night film. Shot entirely in High Definition video,
Skeletons In The Closet will world premiere at Nodance, with
cast and key crew members in attendance. Attendance for all screenings
and panels are free and open to the public. Additional information
can be found on the Nodance web site at www.nodance.com.
