Call for Entries - Docaviv 2025

The 27th Docaviv – the Tel Aviv International Documentary Film Festival will take place May 22nd to May31st, 2025.

Docaviv is the largest film festival in Tel Aviv and the only festival in Israel dedicated to documentary films. Held annually each spring, Docaviv is an Oscar® qualifying festival screening around 100 films every year. The program includes the best of world and Israeli documentary cinema, debut films, special screenings, seminars, outdoor screenings, artist talks, industry events, and more.

Docaviv has the following competitive sections, in addition to several non-competitive sections.

  1. International Competition
  2. Depth of Field Competition – for films that push the boundaries of the documentary genre
  3. Beyond the Screen Competition – for films that ignite both personal and societal change
  4. Shorts Competition
  5. Israeli Competition
  6. Israeli Students Competition

The selection committee prioritizes new and innovative films with strong artistic vision. Please note that you do not submit your film for a specific competition, but rather for the program as a whole – international short film or international feature film. If chosen, the selection committee will decide on the film’s place in our program.

Festival screenings must be Israeli premieres. Eligible films must never have screened, been broadcasted, or been available online in Israel.

SUBMISSION DEADLINES FOR INTERNATIONAL FILMS:

Final Deadline: January 23rd, 2025 – for films to be completed by April 1st , 2025

Entry fees:

25.00€ for films longer than 40 minutes.

Please read the regulations carefully and make sure to choose the most suitable category for the film you are submitting. Approval of the regulations and agreement to the appendices are required for submitting your film.
