Eagle Talon The Movie to premiere at NYIIFVF

In keeping with their well-established tradition of showcasing the best in world animation, NYIIFVF is delighted to announce that the Japanese flash animation feature “Eagle Talon The Movie” will premiere on February 29th at 8pm at the ImaginAsian Theater with a private afterparty to follow. Directed by charismatic animator FROGMAN, Eagle Talon The Movie has received two major NYIIFVF Jury nominations including the prestigious Grand Jury Prize for Best Animation as well as a Best Director nod for FROGMAN. A second screening will take place on Sunday March 2nd at 8pm at Village East Cinema. Eagle Talon The Movie is a groundbreaking Japanese film that utilizes mainly flash animation. Frogman, the king of tongue-in-cheek humor of late night Japanese TV, attacks the whole entertainment industry with a nonsense comedy about a secret society whose silly conspiracy will never become real. This 2007 film collects 11 quirky non-sequitur shorts from The Frogman Show, which Frogman directed, wrote, designed, animated, dubbed, and edited in his DLE/Kaeruotoko Shokai studio for Japanese late-night television the year before. The producers bill the film as the first theatrically released Flash animation in the world. Frogman started a small but extraordinary production company. Despite the simplicity of the character and animation styles, his productions have gained widespread appreciation from the audiences for the tongue-in-cheek scripts and in-depth development of the characters. Since 2002, Frogman has initiated the "one-man" studio formula where he wrote scripts, performed voice-acting, produced and directed single-handedly. In 2004, one of his works, "Sguy and the Family Stone", recorded over 40,000 page views within a single day, hence gaining the company great attention from the local media. This led to subsequent works attaining high ratings, for example the 11-episode "Eagle Talon Secret Society", which scored 1.3% on TV Asahi and ABC, a high percentage rating for late night programs. On top of that, its last episode recorded a 3.6% rating that surpassed "GUNDAM Seed Destiny" which was running on the rival channel. Frogman has since been featured on TBS’s News Channel "NEWS 23" and NHK's "Top Runner". He is also a writer running multiple magazine columns and has had his manga projects published in several issues. Frogman's charisma has led him to be the pride of Shimane, Japan! NYIIFVF Founder/Executive Producer Stuart Alson commented, “Eagle Talon The Movie” is simply brilliant in every way and I am thrilled to be showing it. FROGMAN is freakishly talented and the movie is going to be a massive hit with our NY audience as well as distributors and critics.” For screener copies, artwork and all interview requests, please contact Briege McGarrity at (917) 783-4042 or via email at BMcGarrityPR@aol.com. Distributors and media credentials are invited to e mail or fax a request to 702-361-6309 on company letterhead no later than February 20th.
