End of the Pier International: News and highlights

The sixth End of the Pier International Film Festival will open to the public in Worthing on 25th of April with the world premier of a new British feature presentation: ‘Ambleton Delight’.

This all Sussex film, stars local Brighton actor and celebrity Brian Capron, who will be attending the celebrity screening along with, we hope, the entire cast and crew.

The story revolves around a small fictional Sussex village by the name of Ambleton, which is rocked by a government proposal for a nearby motorway. (Sound familiar?) Filmed exclusively in Sussex, the film showcases local scenery and talent,

Former Coronation Street star Capron, whose television career dates back to ‘Z Cars’ in the 1970s, plays the role of the village mayor.

The production is the directorial debut of Dan Parkes a native New Zealander, who has been developing his Brighton based production company Parke’s productions for several years. The film is supported by the End of the Pier International Film Festival's own internal film development fund. Part of the money from submissions and box-office receipts will be ear-marked for investment into this new film funding initiative. The idea is for the festival to invest in new emerging talent and to support film makers in their inaugural feature film projects.

So far the festival has three other possible feature projects in consideration for support. More information can be obtained by contacting the film festival Director, Bryan Gartside. On 01243 841775 or email: director@eotpfilmfestival.co.uk.

For further information and cast interviews please contact either the film festival office as above or: E-mail: itsuka@parkesproductions.com Office: 01273 671 485 Out of hours: 07758 703 516
