Far East Film Festival, Udine Italy

It is the largest panorama of Asian film in the world, and it starts April 22 and runs through April 29.

The opening film: "A World Without Thieve"s, by Feng Xiaogang, China, stars mainland China’s Ge You, Hong Kong’s Andy Lau, and Taiwan’s René Liu Ruo-ying. Mystery, comedy, action adventure, spiritual odyssey, romance--all rolled into one film by China's box office master Feng Xiaogang! The film involves a train ride with a Buddhist temple painter and a band of thieves. The love story between Andy Lau and René Liu promises great on screen chemistry.

In addition to newer films from Asia are several classics including "Rusty Knife" and "Red Quay" by MASUDA Toshio from Japan, featured in the THE WORLD OF NIKKATSU ACTION section.

Also featured at the festival are photographs by Jupiter Wong on Hong Kong film production.

The festival also features "Horror Day" on April 27th including the anticipated preview of the collective work Tales of Terror (eight shortfilms by seven different directors), and the screening of Feng Shui from Philippines, Art of the Devil from Thailand, One Missed Call 2 from Japan, R-Point from Korea, Suffocation from China, and Pontianak - Scent of the Tuber Rose from Malaysia.
