The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced tonight the winners for the first International Interactive Emmy Awards organized in partnership with Reed MIDEM, in Cannes, France. A Channel, Interactive Service and Program from the UK, South Korea and France won the first ever International Interactive Emmy Award in their category. The inaugural Pioneer Prize was presented to Jonathan Miller, Chairman & CEO of AOL for his innovative contributions to the field of interactive television. The list of winners follows this release.

The sold-out black-tie ceremony was attended by over 250 international key-players from the television, Internet and mobile industries including sponsors: AETN, AOL, Bold and Beautiful, Colorchips, Ericcson, Homechoice, Intel, KBS, Open TV and Sky.

The International Interactive Emmy Awards at MIPTV is the first ever Emmy Awards ceremony held outside of the United States.

The 34th International Emmy Awards Gala will be held in New York, November 20, 2006.
