FOCAL International Awards

FOCAL INTERNATIONAL AWARDS 2012

Ninth annual Awards in association with AP Archive to celebrate the best in the world of footage
Celebrity host announced for 2nd May ceremony TICKETS ON SALE NOW!

FOCAL International, the International Federation of Commercial Audio-visual Libraries, has announced that tickets are now available for the ninth annual FOCAL International awards in association with AP Archive. The event takes place on 2 May 2012 at The Lancaster London Hotel, and will be hosted by journalist and broadcaster John Sergeant.

The range of subject matter covered by this year's international nominees is vast, taking attendees on journeys from A Trip to the Moon (France/USA) to 9/11 Emergency Room (Testimony Films, UK), introducing royalty The Boy Who Was a King (Agitprop, Bulgaria) and sporting legends Senna (Universal Pictures/Working Title, UK), and charting historic events from The Troubles in Northern Ireland Bernadette: notes on a political journey (Digital Quilts, Ireland) to Perestroika in the USSR POV: My Perestroika (Red Square Productions, USA). Broadcasters including the BBC, ITN and NBC are also nominated. A full list of nominees is below.

Julie Lewis, General Manager, FOCAL International, said, "The Awards event is always a joyous occasion, providing a welcome opportunity to meet our peers and celebrate each other's work. The calibre of this year's nominees is incredibly high - it's going to be a close call in many of the categories, which will surely add a further element of excitement to the evening."

The evening includes a drinks reception, three course meal and after party. Ticket prices start at £85.00 per person for FOCAL International individual members, with tables of 10 available from £920.00 to £1500.00 (all prices are quoted ex-VAT).

The shortlist for the FOCAL International Awards 2012 in association with AP Archive is as follows and the full list of credits, synopses and supporting text have been listed on the website
