Fondation LibanCinéma at the Film Market

For the second consecutive year, the Fondation LibanCinéma (FLC) is taking part in the Cannes Film Festival by participating in the Film Market, thus providing Lebanese cinema with a bridge towards the international market.

Three screenings illustrating the diversity of Lebanese film production are organized as follows:

May 23rd at 4 pm, Palais F, 115 mn: Bosta by Philippe Aractingi, best box-office of the year.
May 23rd at 8:30 pm, Palais G, 88m:A perfect day by Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige, an author film that won several international awards.
May 25th at 10:30 pm, Palais D, 35mn: Film excerpts representing a panorama of the 2005-2006 production: A perfect day by Joanna Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige, Bosta by Philippe Aractingi, Dunia by Jocelyne Saab, Khalas by Borhane Alaouié, The last man by Ghassan Salhab.

Relevant promotional material will be available on our stand on the following subjects:

1- Recent Lebanese feature films (2005/2006): a booklet published by the Fondation LibanCinéma, will be distributed at the Film Market.

2- Festivals that work in Lebanon and abroad for the promotion of Lebanese cinema:

Beirut DC
Né à Beyrouth
Middle East Film Festival

3- A CD ROM containing a mini data base on Lebanese cinema.

The FLC Cannes project is supported by the Lebanese Office of Tourism in France (Lebanese Ministry of Tourism), the Lebanese Ministry of Culture and the Service of Cooperation and Cultural Action of the French Embassy in Lebanon.
