Golden Trailer Fest dates set for May

The annual tribute to movie previews is held on May 25, 2004 at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles. Much like the two-minute trailers it celebrates, the Golden Trailer Awards itself is a high octane rocket ride of laughs, high drama, loud music and energy. "It's the movie awards show guaranteed against attention deficit disorder," says Monica Brady, who along with sister Evelyn Brady created the show and guided it through its first five years.

Each year a high-powered panel of celebrity judges picks winners in 18 categories including: Golden Fleece, Most Original, Best Drama, Best Music, Best Action, Trashiest Trailer and Best Trailer, No Movie. The Golden Trailer Awards proudly introduces two new categories this year: Best Independent Foreign and Summer 2004 Mega Blockbuster.

This year’s judges include:
actress Glenn Close (Stepford Wives, Le Divorce),
directors Neil Jordan (The Crying Game),
Rob Minkoff (The Lion King, Stuart Little), and
Steve Carr (Daddy Day Care),
producer Anne Chaisson (Roger Dodger),
Dean Mary Schmidt Campbell (Tisch School of the Arts, New York University) and Manhattan Pictures President Paul Cohen.

Bruno Chatelin was a judge in the 2000 edition.

To be eligible for judging in this year’s show, entries must be postmarked by March 12th, 2004.

The 5th Annual Golden Trailer Awards take place on May 25 at 8 p.m. at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles.
