Hamburg Bitfilm Festival focus on digital new media

Bitfilm Festival 2005 to show cutting-edge digital movies in eight competitions
Bitfilm Festival Hamburg (November 2 – 6 2005) presents films that use digital technologies in a creative and innovative way.

The audience decides by SMS voting on awards in eight categories with a prize
money totalling 12000 €:
3D SPACE – Computer-generated 3D animations
FX MIX - Digitally composed hybrids, mixing for example live action and animation
FLASH ATTACK - Films produced in Macromedia Flash
MACHINIMA - Movies made in real time with game engines
DEMOSHOW - Audiovisual programs using a PC processor and videocard
MICROMOVIES - Clips designed for the small screens of mobile devices
RINGTOONS - Animated ring videos for mobile phones
SUBVISIONS - Ultra shorts for underground train screens

In 2004, more than 700 films from 46 countries were submitted to Bitfilm Festival.
For its sixth edition, digital works may be submitted until July 15th 2005. For
submission forms please visit www.bitfilm-festival.org.
This year's special focus is the ever closer relationship between films and games, showcasing games that were turned into films and vice versa. Festival partner ATI will offer a workshop for Machinima and Realtime Demo developers.
