HD EXPO – Createasphere’s 3D Day Shows Full 3D Spectrum

Panels Highlighting Creativity and Execution Mark Third Annual 3D Day
An engaging combination of directors, cinematographers, expert technologists, illuminating the spectrum of creativity and reality, have been set for HD EXPO-Createasphere’s Third Annual 3D Day next week at the Burbank Marriott Convention Center in Burbank, California.
“How Did They Do That? The Making of a 3D Movie from Script to Screen” will put Director Patrick Lussier ("My Bloody Valentine 3D"), Buzz Hays (Sony Pictures Imageworks), Siggy Ferstl (Company 3), Brian Gaffney (Technicolor) and Ami Dror (XpanD) in a conversation about how ideas go from pen to production to post and finally through to exhibition. The panel, moderated by POST Magazine’s West Coast Editor Dan Restuccio, brings an incredible depth of creative and technical experience to the HD EXPO - Createasphere audience. Over the past few years, as 3D has grown from a test environment to execution, many content creators are looking at the feasibility of producing 3D. “My Bloody Valentine” set the box office on fire, and more projects are rolling down the pipeline. These experts, whose depth of experience includes box office smashes to global exhibition, will illuminate the process in a candid discussion that focuses on how to execute creative vision.
“3D: Creativity, Imagery and Cinematography” features cinematographers Rodney Taylor, ASC, (Phish Concerts, Hannah Montana) and Toshiaki Ozawa, (SCAR, The Brown Bunny, Falling For Grace). Taylor has been working on a number of 3D concert films that will be shown theatrically. This new face of exhibition is a growing trend towards 3D event films. Ozawa will be showing clips from his feature “SCAR,” an independently produced and financed 3D horror film, premiering next year.

Both panels will feature 3D screenings. XPand, GDC Technologies, and Christie Projectors are sponsors of Createasphere's 3D Day.
HD EXPO - Createasphere 3D Day, now in its third year, takes place on November 5th. HD EXPO - Createasphere is set for November 4th and 5th at the Burbank Marriott Hotel and Convention Center and features education, a full line up of panels on both days, and a packed exhibition area. Panels on November 4th include; “A Keynote Conversation with acclaimed American cinematographer Lance Acord, ASC,” “Creating Content for the Mobile Platform: What Every Producer Should Know” and “Hard Core, Revolutionary and Indispensable - Must Have and Must See Gear.”
