KINSHASA SYMPHONY opens 16th Visions du Réel festival in Nyon (15 - 21 April)There will be a strong presence of German documentaries at this year's Visions du Réel festival in Nyon: apart from the opening film, 25 German films or co-productions have been invited to this highly respected festival in Switzerland. BERLIN -STETTIN by Volker Koepp and LULLABY (WIEGENLIEDER) by Tamara Trampe and Johann Feindt will be competing in the International Competition of Visions du Réel for the CHF 20,000 Grand Prix.
The following will be showing in the newcomer competition Regards Neufs: ALIAS by Jens Junker, NOWHERE IN EUROPE (KEIN ORT) by Kerstin Nickig (DE/PL), KICK IN IRAN by Fatima Geza Abdollahyhan, THIS MOMENT IS NOT THE SAME by Marion Neumann (DE/CH), REBECA by Gonzalo H. Rodriguez, SHOSHOLOZA EXPRESS by Beatrice Moeller (DE/ZA), SONGS FROM THE NICKEL by Alina Skrzeszewska (US/DE) as well as DIE VIER ENDEN DER STADT by Sven Boeck.
The opening film KINSHASA SYMPHONY by Claus Wischmann and Martin Baer will be presented in the Tendences sidebar. Also coming from Germany are: DAVID WANTS TO FLY by David Sieveking (DE/CH/AT), I'M A CROW - AN AFTERNOON WITH MILO YELLOW HAIR by Simone Fuerbringer and Nicolas Humbert (DE/CH), PLUG & PRAY by Jens Schanze and URVILLE by Angela Christlieb.
