Las Vegas Film Festival 2010 set april dates

The 2010 Las Vegas Film Festival will take place April 22nd - April 25th in the heart of the entertainment capital of the world.

With Cinevegas on a hiatus this year the Las Vegas Film Festival is now Las Vegas' premiere film event taking place annually in the heart of the entertainment capital of the world. Dedicated to showcasing the finest American and international cinema the world has to offer, our mission is to bridge the gap between independent film audiences and filmmakers, as well as to connect emerging filmmakers with established industry professionals.

The 2010 Festival will showcase Feature Films, Shorts, Foreign Films, Documentaries, Animation, Music Videos, Television Pilots, a Nevada Filmmakers Showcase, Experimental Films, a Screenplay Competition and more.

This year's festival will see over $7,500 in cash and prizes given away to the winning filmmakers and screenwriters.  Juried and audience awards are given in several categories to celebrate achievements in filmmaking, screenwriting and acting including cash prizes for the Grand Jury Award, presented to the best feature film in competition, the Jury Prize awarded to the best short film in the festival, and the top three finalists in the screenplay competition.

Celebrity Tributes
The Las Vegas Film Festival welcomed a variety of celebrities at the 2009 event for intimate, interactive discussions about their work and latest films, followed by a special audience question and answer session.

Barry Pepper was on hand to accept the 2009 LVFF Best Actor Award for his work in "Like Dandelion Dust", as well as to discuss his previous films, such as "Saving Private Ryan" and "Enemy of the State."

John Saxon accepted the 2009 LVFF Best Supporting Actor Award for his performance in "God's Ears", as well as discussed his work in classic films such as " Enter The Dragon" and "The Appaloosa".
