THE NEW YORK INTERNATIONAL INDEPENDENT FILM AND VIDEO FESTIVAL
RETURNS TO LAS VEGAS, JULY 20th - 27th
The New York International Independent Film and Video Festival (NYIIFVF) along with its companion, The New York International Independent Music Festival (NYIIMF) proudly returns for their annual Las Vegas edition, for eight days of screenings, performances, seminars and parties. The festival kicks off on July 20th with an opening night networking party at club Seven. These festivals will run concurrently together at Brenden Theatres inside the Palms Casino Resort Hotel thru July 27th.
The New York International Independent Art Festival is very excited to have its Las Vegas debut in conjunction with its’ sister festivals premiering one night only on Tuesday, July 20th. Artists from around the country will exhibit their works. All artwork will be for sale and the art festival will feature the works of local artists.
Festival Highlights:
Gettysburg: Three Days of Destiny, a documentary about the compelling, epic saga of the
Battle of Gettysburg. This film was produced and directed by Robert Child- twenty year film veteran. Child’s credits include ABC’s Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and Food Network’s Emeril Live (5 seasons). He has won 4 national awards for outstanding directorial achievement and has won a 25th Anniversary Golden Telly Award. NYIIFVF Award Winner.
Life is a Dream, an award winning documentary by David E. Breaux, with Vin Diesel (XXX, A Man Apart, The Fast and the Furious) as Executive Producer. The film is about a young man who needs to understand why his father has left his family. The son, who is now a father with two children of his own, is compelled to search for answers.
Walking on the Sky, a psychological drama about six friends confronted with the suspicious death of one of their own. While struggling to uncover the truth, they stumble upon his diary. Directed by award winning Carl T. Evans, whose acting credits include (“Beverly Hills 90210”,“ MelrosePlace”, “Third Watch”, “Sex and the City”) and many others.
Hollywood Trash & Tinsel, a documentary about music and the making and marketing of Prey for Rock & Roll. This film was directed and written by Cheri Lovedog (writer of Prey for Rock & Roll--which was based on her life). Appearances with Cheri Lovedog, Drea De Matteo (“The Sopranos”) and Samantha Maloney (Drummer for Motley Crue, Hole and Courtney Love).
LikeHell: The Movie, a music documentary directed by Ryan Schaddelee, a story behind rocks most legendary super group, as told by the band themselves with the help of some of America’s biggest
names today including Velvet Revolver and Queens of the Stone Age.
Portraits of a Naked Lady Dancer, a documentary directed by Deborah Rowe. Poignant issues and raw honesty are the backdrops to these women’s all-nude dance routines. As the surface layers unfold, it gives us a deeper understanding of their struggles and realities of being a dancer in light of the current, more negative stereotypes.

by her ex. -Tuesday, July 27th at 8:00pm.
**The Students from the Community College of Southern Nevada’s Videography and Film Program, under the great direction of lead program instructor John Marsh, will be showcasing
18 video documentaries on Saturday, July 24th at 4:00pm.

The New York International Independent Film and Video Festival’s Information:
Opening Night: Tuesday, July 20th will commence from 7:00pm-1:00am and will take place at Club SEVEN, located at 3724 S. Las Vegas Blvd. corner of Harmon. This will be a casual networking event for the whole spectrum of the film, music and entertainment industry.
Film Screenings: Start on Wednesday, July 21st-27th at Brenden Theatres, featuring a diverse range of shorts, documentaries, animations and features. Filmmakers will showcase their talents in front of influential members of the film and entertainment industry.
After-Parties & Seminars: NYIIFVF will host a selection of after-parties at Vegas’ top hot spots as well as a range of insider panels to help participants gain knowledge about the many facets of the film industry. For this the festival will fly in film reps from New York and Los Angeles as well as invite the whole spectrum of the Las Vegas film and entertainment industry. These seminars are held at Brenden Theatres on July 21st-23rd.
Scheduling & Tickets: The film schedule, advanced tickets and VIP passes are available by logging on to the festival website www.nyfilmvideo.com *Festival’s All-Access VIP passes are priced at $100. This is an 8 day All-Access pass to film screenings, music performances, seminars and after-parties.
Box Office Information: Festival film screenings at 12pm, 2pm and 4pm are free Mon-Fri. All other times, tickets are priced at $10.00, for each screening. Tickets may be purchased from Ticketweb by calling 1-866-468-7619 or log on to the festival web site.
