Awards of 6th (and the last) International Panorama of Independent filmmakers 2004
On Saturday, 9th October the curtain of the 6th International Panorama of Independent Film- and Video makers which was organised by the Cinema Club of the Trades Union Centre of Thessalonica (T.U.C.Th.) fell in a successful and festive atmosphere with the awards ceremony of 6th International Panorama and the 1st International Competition of Photography which had the subject "Photographing like Cinema'"
In the events room of the T.U.C.Th., which was full of the audience and the participating directors, there were the representatives of local and cultural institutions of the city as well as consuls of the countries where the films that participated in the Panorama came from.
The program of the ceremony included:
A tribute to the filmmaker of Thessalonica Nikos Bililis with the screening of the documentary "Cheerful Thessalonica" with newsreel footage of the decade of 1960 from the life in Thessalonica.
The non-governmental organisation "Children in Action" organised an alternative happening on the subject of the anti-globalisation, while the organisation committee of the 6th International Panorama amazed "digitally" the public that were there for the "last trip to the dream ".
The series of photographs that were awarded the first 6 prizes of the 1st International Competition of Photography:

3. " A DAY IN THE PARADE " by KATSAKOS ANDREAS

5. "Touch....me" by TZOTZOPOULOS VASILIS
6. " WITH THE SOUL AND SPIRIT " by TSIROS SOTIRIS

Special Award for the best actress to Despina Kourti in the film « Lou and Lena » directed by Maria Lafi 23’30’’ S.F
The members of the Cinema Club has established the special award
FOR THE EMOTION OF THE FILM, which this year was given to the films:

«Armadillo» by Cayetana Vidal 20' S.F., Argentina/U.S.Α
Two hundred and three (203) directors from 46 countries (a record of entries) participated in the 6th International Panorama of Independent Film- and Videomakers which was organised by the Cinema Club of the Department of Culture of the Trade Union Centre of Thessaloniki in cooperation with the International Film Festival of Ankara and with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Employment and Social Protection, the Ministry of Macedonia and Thrace, the Prefecture of Thessalonica, the Municipality of Thessalonica and the General Secretariat of New Generation.
Unfortunately this will be the last Panorama for involuntary reasons and consequently and at the same time the cessation of the operation of the Cinema Club of the Union Trades Centre of Thessalonica after 10 years of continuous and uninterrupted operation.
