Latino filmmaking at Long Island Latino Film Fest

The Long Island Latino International Film Festival was created to celebrate and showcase the finest in Latino filmmaking. Now in our 4th year LILIFF continues to build its reputation by presenting exceptional works by or about Latinos. Our opening night films will be the romantic dramedy short “Mayor O Menor” and the world premier of “Bracero Stories”. Our closing night film will be Francisco Franco’s “Quemar Las Naves”, for which Irene Azuela took home the best actress Golden Ariel at Mexico’s 2008 Ariel Awards.

Our festival is open to both the United States and the International film community with films such as Gabriela Bohm’s “The Longing” Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Daniel Carrera’s “Primera Comunion” Mexico and Yan Giroux’s “Cubanos-Life and Death of a Revolution” Cuba.

LILIFF is committed to bringing compelling films with powerful storytelling to Long Island, which is home to over 350,000 Hispanics and growing.

Participating filmmakers receive VIP all access passes to screenings, special events and after parties and are encouraged to participate in Q&A sessions following the screening of their film.

This year Mezcla Media Market, Inc. is hosting LILIFF at the Charles B. Wang Center thanks to the collaboration and partnership with Stony Brook University Hispanic Heritage Month Committee, LACC - Latin American & Caribbean Studies Center and UUL - Union Universitaria Latinoamericana.

Join us at the Long Island Latino International Film Festival in celebrating our Hispanic Heritage, and supporting the art of filmmaking.
