The much awaited “MAMI” 8th International Film Festival – Mumbai is finaly scheduled to be held between March 23 – 30, 2006. Festival schedule is disturbed this year for various reasons, but lastly festival directorate geared up with fresh inthusiasm to make their commitments.

The festival will pay tribute to Rossellini on his birth centenary year by showing his films. The opening of Retro will be -Rome Open City.

Festival will also pay tributes to Prithviraj Kapoor (birth centenary year) by screening his films Vidyapathi & Sikander.

The festival always promotes meaningful Cinema that has oozing out of every pore. The Festival will showcase 80 films from 30 countries. It will introduce Serbian cinema (with 6 films) for the first time in Indian Festival scene. Mami festival is the only Independent film festival in India to introduce latest trends in International cinema.

The main venue will be IMAX Multiplex (Wadala-Mumbai) and Chavan Centre in South Mumbai.
