Marco Müller has been appointed director of the Venice Film Festival. The new Administration Board of the Venice Biennale headed by newly appointed President Davide Croff took the decision on its first meeting on Thursday, March 4. Marco Müller takes over from Moritz de Hadeln, who had directed the festival for the last two years, and whom the Board thanked "for his contribution to consolidate the event".
Marco Müller has been appointed for a period of four years.

Marco Müller, born 1953 in Rome, has programmed and directed a variety of festivals, among them Pesaro (1983-1989), Rotterdam (1989-1991) and Locarno (1991-2000). He has also worked as producer, among others for the Benetton Group and for his own company "Downtown Pictures" in Bologna, Italy.
