The 45th International Film Festival for Children and Youth, which started in Zlín on Sunday, May 29, 2005 and closes this Saturday, June 4.

Not only, the wife of well-known British actor Michael York (both guests at Zlin Festival) , Pat York is an accomplished artist in her own right.

Pat York started as a journalist for Vogue in New York. Later she worked with Glamour around the world as a reporter in the Travel section. She became a freelance photographer and her work appeared in numerous magazines worldwide like, Time, Newsweek, Life, People, Playboy, Elle, Harpers Bazaar and London Times. Her photographs can be seen at the National Portrait Gallery in London and in Los Angeles and Tokyo Galleries among others.

A retro of her work called !Masked, Uncovered and Unmasked! was shown at the Marble Palace Museum in Saint Petersburg and in Warsaw. The exhibit then moved to Slit, Dubrovnik, Lodz, Moscow, Gent and Santa Fe. In 2003 she exhibited at the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences a collection called Imaging and Imaging : The Film World of Pat York.

Pat York also writes screenplays and lectures on photography. Currently she is working on a book on medicine mixing traditional and alternative approaches.
